SDH Studio 7 years!

7 years and counting!

As we celebrate our 7 year anniversary @ SDH_Studio Architecture + Design we wanted to take this opportunity to share with you some of our crazy and yet amazing AHA! Moments throughout this journey.

We are forever grateful to all of you who have trusted us in making your dream projects come to life!

For those of you who are new, welcome! Thank you for joining us. We send this newsletter every few weeks in which we share some exciting news about our work, but more importantly, we will also start sharing creative architecture, design, construction, random ideas, and new developments to make you fall in love with our world. So stick around and let us know what you think!

Here we go 🙂
The quality of the interior space and its relationship with the exterior is what truly drives our projects, transforming the adventure of everyday living into an extraordinary experience!

Having the privilege to work with the most talented group of people every day truly has made SDH Studio what it is today. This is reflected in the quality of our work and the special relationships we have with our clients.

The thrill of seeing our projects come to life the way we have envisioned them never ceases to amaze us!

We have had the honor to work with the most amazing clients! Learning from them, understanding every tiny detail that is truly important for them during the design and construction process is one of the things we love most about our work.

Installation of purple lights to help palms grow faster and stronger during the final stages of construction was an awesome idea by one of our awesome clients!

Weekends are perfect for site visits, plus you get to show off with your kids!

Please enjoy this very unrealistic photo of their mood while driving around the city on a Sunday to see “mom’s work”!

Working alongside my husband (who founded TREO Construction a little after SDH started) has been one of the biggest milestones in our relationship. Learning to respect each others role, establishing boundaries as to where and when work talk was allowed while having fun in the process has been a true adventure!

To have the amazing opportunity to design and build our own office building and give SDH a true home. A place where our clients feel free to come and go at any time, and a home for our team to create and explore.

There is no such thing as too many hands to help! Construction is a very detail-oriented craft, amazing results are only achieved when Architect, Designer, GC, and clients truly become a team.

Bringing the exterior landscape into the inside of the home has become our true passion. Often this may be achieved by framing spectacular views and maximizing indoor/outdoor living. Other times it means bringing 25 feet full grown bamboos into the middle of the living room!

Our endless study of 3D technology is truly fascinating! From conceptual/schematic ideas to design development volumetric studies, to final photorealistic renders… over 5 different computer programs are used throughout our design process.

Technology is unbelievable and essential to our work but nothing beats drawing by hand! Once you have your hands completely stained with graphite you know you are on to something good!

We crazy architects would do absolutely anything to get the perfect shot of the project!

Studying for my Architect’s license (after 6 years of Architecture in Venezuela) was an incredible challenge. Finding the time and the balance between work, studying, and being a full-time Mom was a lot more difficult than I had imagined, but it was so worth it! I developed a constant thirst for learning and exploring new innovative ways of thinking about Architecture.

We pour our full hearts into our work because we LOVE what we do and we get to have a blast in the process!
