Love Happens magazine has named SDH Studio Architecture + Design one of the top interior design firms in and around Miami. The A–Z list features 24 firms that the editors picked for their individual style and their place in the market. The work covers penthouses, private residences, hotels, restaurants and shops.
What the Editors Saw
The feature introduces our founder, Stephanie Halfen, AIA, who was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. The editors credit the studio with bringing “flavor to design with breathtaking spatial experiences.” They also note how often SDH Studio’s “stunning, lavish, and modern interior design” has appeared in Florida publications. The article shows a selection of our residential work, including interiors from the Oaks Residence.
Architecture and Interiors as One Practice
Only a handful of firms on the list design both the building and what goes inside it, and SDH Studio is one of them. That shapes how we work. We plan the interiors alongside the architecture from the very first sketches instead of adding them once the shell is finished. Sightlines, ceiling heights, natural light and the move from indoors to outdoors all get resolved together. The result is a home that feels like one complete idea.
Designed for South Florida and the Caribbean
Our homes respond to their setting. Deep overhangs keep the sun out of the rooms. Natural stone, wood and steel are chosen to age well in a tropical climate. Open, flowing plans bring the landscape inside. Every commission is bespoke, and we take on a deliberately small number of projects each year so that Stephanie and the team stay closely involved from concept to completion.
